- What are the ages limits for children?
- To be eligible to play in the kindergarten division, a child have been born by 8/31/02. To play in the U5 Division a child must have been born by 7/31/03
preceding the beginning of the Fall season.

- Will my child be on the same team as in the Fall?
- The teams are completely reformed for each Fall season. Teams are kept as intact as possible
from fall to spring, however a few teams typically have to
be reformed. There usually are not as many teams during the Spring season and some children
may have to be moved to new teams. (A benefit of being moved to another team is getting a
new uniform at no extra charge.) Coaches and team parents will notify families regarding team
assignments a few week before the start of the season.

- When does the season begin?
- Fall 2007: Girls start on Saturday, August 25, 2007 (Kindergarten thru 6th
Grade). Boys start on Sunday, August 26, 2007. The 7/8th Grade and High School
girls teams
play on Sundays.

When will I hear something?
- We are very busy during March, July and early August organizing the teams, coaches, uniforms, game schedules, etc. In early April and the middle of August we hold a packet distribution session for the
team parents. At that time the team parents are given the names and phone numbers of each player on their team. It is then the team parents’ duty to call each of their player's families as soon as possible.
As much as we’d like to give you information sooner, we just can’t. With 1600+ players per season, we cannot call each one or talk to all of you to let you know what is happening. So we ask you to be patient and wait for the team parents’s call. Check the Glenview AYSO calendar for the date of packet
distribution/pick-up. If you haven’t heard from anyone within 4-5 days after packet distribution, call 847-729-AYSO and we will try to help you. (However, we sometimes are painfully slow to return voice mails. If you would
like to volunteer to help us respond to voice mail questions on the AYSO hotline, we could use the help).
- Where will practices be held?
- The time and location of practices for 1st Grade through High School teams is determined by the coach. Players who register assume an
obligation to attend at least one practice per week. Kindergarten team practices and games are combined into a single one hour session. With the exception of one or
two pre-season practices, kindergarten teams do not have weekday practices.
We realize that soccer is just one of many activities our children are involved with. We also realize that soccer is not necessarily the most important.
And we understand why you tell us that ‘my child cannot practice on such-and-such a day due to religious school’. Unfortunately it is not feasible to adjust each of the players’
requested practice schedules to those of specific teams (when the practice times are picked by the coaches rather than our league and may change up until
the day practices start)… Well, we just do not have the resources to do that.
- I (Want/Need) to Play With...
- We wish we could accommodate all of your requests to be with your friends/neighbors, etc. We, too, have busy lives and understand the importance of
car-pooling. But with the number of players, teams, etc. we support in this program, it’s just not possible to handle these requests. Besides, it’s
great for the players to get out and make new friends each season.
AYSO also firmly believes in fair, balanced teams. We have found that teams with multiple players who know each other or who have played together before
can have an unfair advantage and dominate a division. The only exception to this guideline is that siblings (brothers/sisters) living at the same address
and in the same age group will automatically be placed on the same team, unless their parents request that we separate them. No other requests to play together, or requests to play with a certain coach, will be considered
- What if I want to switch teams?
- Wrong gender or wrong age group assignments will be corrected. Otherwise, team switching is not permitted. If your child has been placed with the wrong gender or age group, contact 847-729-AYSO.
