Training Sessions With Professional Soccer Coaches
_____________________________________
Glenview AYSO has arranged with AYSO Soccer Camps to make two licensed professional soccer coaches available to run training sessions for our
teams. The Professional Coaches will be in Glenview from September 8 through October 20. The response from the players, coaches and parents
during the past four years to sessions with the professional trainers has been overwhelmingly positive. We encourage all teams to take advantage
of this opportunity
The training sessions with the professional coaches would replace
your team's practice during the week in which you signed up for training. Our goal is to offer every team one to two training sessions with the professional coaches. There is no cost to your team for these training sessions.
Coaches and team parents of the 1st grade through High School teams can sign up for training sessions by using the form provided on the Training Times link. The daylight session will be held at Gallery Park (meet at the soccer fields in the northwest corner of the park). The evening sessions will be held at the lighted fields at Community Park West (these are the sessions in October starting at 6:45 and 7:45 pm).
For Kindergarten teams there is no need to sign up. The trainers will be conducting large group sessions at Gallery Park for Kindergarten teams on game days.
Please be aware that the form is not live yet. You can test it, but data entered will not be saved. In order to give teams an equal chance to sign up for optimum times, the form will not go live until Monday morning August 27th.
Sign up for training sessions by using the form provided on the Training Times page.
Each trainer can manage two teams of the same sex and grade for the U-8 or U-10 team.
Thus, we could have a total of four U-8 and U-10 teams training during a single time period. Have another team with which you have a friendly rivalry? Arrange to sign your teams up together. As an example, B1U and B1V (both are boys 1st grade teams) will be sharing a trainer on Friday September 30th at 5:00 pm. Team B2K will be working with the other trainer during this time period. As of 9/7, another 2nd grade boys team could sign up for slot 80 and share it with B2K. The U-12 through high school teams have more players on their rosters, and each trainer will run individual sessions for these teams. The older teams training session sign-ups will fill two adjacent slots. (Example - G8B at 5:00 pm on Thursday, September, 29)
Initially, teams are limited to signing up for two training sessions. On September 26th, the sign up page will be re-opened, and teams can sign up for two additional training sessions.
Evening Training Session Location
Please be aware that for the evening training sessions starting at 6:45 and 7:45, parents should drive to the parking lot at the far southwest corner of the park, just past the skateboard area. The trainers will be in the outfield of Softball Field # 5. The 4:30 and 5:30 sessions are at Gallery Park.
If you have question about this program, please send an e-mail to r-pickard@sbcglobal.net or daniel.dein@siemens.com.
Opportunities to host the coaches are available. Hosting a coach is a great cultural experience for both coach and family. The coaches are mid 20's and have their own transport and are fairly self sufficient, all they need is a bed and food for the duration of the stay. Most families host one coach for a week, although a number of families have hosted both coaches. Interested in having a soccer coach stay at your home for a week? If so, please send an e-mail to r-pickard@sbcglobal.net to receive additional details.
