Glenview AYSO
Referee Program and Training
In Glenview, referees come from the same place as the coaches and team parents do… from you. In the first and second grades, we sit down with the parents and recruit coaches, team parents, and referees. If the team has no coach or team parent, the team is disbanded. If nobody volunteers as referee, we do not disband the team, but there will be times when you go to a match and there is no referee. Starting at the third grade level, we do not have parent meetings, but the same rules apply. You can prevent this. Moms, dads, and older siblings all make good referees.
Becoming a referee is easy, we will train you. As your child grows, we can keep you ready with upgrade classes. This is just like the coaching track where they refresh the coaches every couple of years.
